About Me
I am a 1995 graduate of the
Pennsylvania State University. While
there, I was a member of Penn State Marching
Blue Band for two years, and Circle K for
two years. I also worked for the Penn State
Center for Academic Computing for several years, first as a lab
attendant and then as a computer lab supervisor.
It was also while at Penn State when I met my wife, Jennifer. (Yes, that's us in the pictures to the right.) We actually met on the internet, thanks to a common love of Billy Joel. Jen was at Altoona Campus at the time, so we spent lots of time chatting on PSUVM. A match made in cyberspace heaven!
Although I graduated with a degree in Integrative Arts (emphasis in music and recording), my job as a computer lab supervisor let me towards a career in Information Technology. After taking several MIS and continuing education courses, I landed a co-op assignment at The MITRE Corporation. Jen was also lucky enough to get a co-op assignment at the same place! While there, I worked mainly as an assistant System Administrator, doing NT sysadmin tasks, building NT and Win95 machines, running backups, and learning a bit about Unix sysadmin. I also did some web design projects, where I learned Cold Fusion. After that I had a short stint as an NT SysAdmin for a company called NetBase, then got a job as a Web Producer at Electric Press, where I supported and designed web pages for clients such as Kiplinger, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
In my spare time (HA!) I also create web pages both for fun and for independent clients. Jen and I even have our own web design business, Innovative Web Creations. It was my Hall and Oates web page that led to picking up some paying clients, including actor, author, and motivational speaker Richard Hatch (of Battlestar Galactica fame).
Other items of interest... in October Jen and I bought a townhouse in Centreville, VA (picture coming soon)! Also coming soon will be a picture of the new car we just ordered, a 1999 Mercury Cougar! It should be here by the end of March... I can't wait! I'll also put up a picture of our other car, a 95 Dodge Avenger, as well as more wedding pictures! (View what I have so far here.)
